1 down , 2 to go
First of all ,I have to apolgise to reader like Tey that I dont update my blog recently.
I always get encouragement from him from his reply and also everytime I meet him, thanks tey !
Aside from the CNY, work meetings in China for 1 week in feb, and recently again another week has prevented me any trainings. In fact , I came back on Friday late evening , and with a full sat rest , I have to wake up at 2am on 18/3 to go KL for our KLIM ! From 5 decree Celcius in Nanjing,China back to KL temperature has alot to adjust to.
I was thankful that the KLIM starts at 4.00 am , because of the expected weather will shoots up after upon sunrise.
Peter, Albert, Dinesh, Lee Foo Kien , Leow and myself gather at Klang to carpool to KL for our 1st Full Marathon of 2007.
Lee also had not been training , Dinesh who last minute decided to exchange his 21km ticket with another runner to take the Full Challenge -----this trio include myself seem to be in the same boat are Full Steam ? for the KLIM., haha,,,,.....
As usual, all the regular runners are there, this time , more of them are in the Full category.
2007 has announced myself to be in the Senior Veteran Category, UPGRADE !!@!!
We started off together, and within minutes, all of them has split up.
I took my usual slow start, did not push hard. With the recent Smart tunnel run, i was eager to make my 1st target., so I run with that in mind to overcome the morning ground heat.
It was a good run until I suffer a sudden cramp at km25, got a help from 1 pacesetter and then came along pacesetter (Jason Thiang ) who then gave me a " CRAMP recovery jerk " - to describe precisely , i sat on the kerb with my affected foot stretched against his foot, he pulled me , lift me up ..that "jerk" did the magic of healing the cramp.
I really recovered immediately, and start to run. I am thankful to both of them.
With caution, I am determine to complete my run., as I am running against my challenge with fellow member Lee Foo Kien in terms of no of Full Marathon medals.
He is on par with me , 6 medals and this will be our 7th.
He was already ahead of me, and I am not going to loose to him on this.
Almost near to Dataran, ard 26km, catched up with Dinesh who also had suffered a cramp.
At 26km, Phelips (pacesetter volunteer )was there to hand me the power gel which i had given earlier.
She really helpful, a recognition award was presented to her during the PACM dinner yesterday how she helped a few singaporeans who have lost their passports, help them at the embassy, and arrange bus ticket back to spore.
At 27km , i was alittle ahead of Dinesh and as I was passing by so many coffee shops , I decided to take a break for " Nescafe Tarik ".
I had been comtemplating this a long time as I remember Powergel contains Caffein ,why not a hot " Nescafe ".....ada omph !! caffein got lah !!
Hardly 5 seeps, i had to pass it to another runner who suffered the same cramp.
I apply the same " Cramp covery jerk " upon him I learn awhile ago , gave my "Nescafe caffein " to him.
I wondered whether it did any good to him.
I managed to catch up with Dinesh and after 3okm , we are together most of the time and until I decide to split up at probably 40km to finish at 5hr 55min, and Dinesh finished 5hr 59 min.
I am happy to collect my 7th medal. Lee completed earlier in sub-5.
Now,we are par.
With 1 medal achieved, there are 2 more to go ( my challenge with fellow runner Lee ).
Next - Penang Full Marathon.,June 24.
After it - Putra Jaya.
Cheers to all the Pacesetters who has helped me along the way to the way., that includes a booster encouragement from Tey himself . He shouted at me across the road at probably 38km.
Thanks.
